Cross Based Ministries is  led by Pastor J. W. Simiyu as the founder and the director of Cross Based Ministries in Africa.

The Cross Based Ministries has it’s headquarter in Bungoma, Kenya in East Africa.

This ministry was started in April 2004 and its headquarter was officially launched on 13th October 2004 as the first Cross Based Ministry church (mother church) under Pastor Floriano Juma (senior pastor).

At present we have managed to plant 8 churches in Kenya and 5 churches in Uganda.

Cross Based Ministries is a ministry that cares and takes much concern on reaching the unreached, fishing the lost and feeding the found on the living word of God. 2nd Timothy 2:14, 15

Open air proclamation is our first priority which was honored by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Matthew 28:19

Our mission is to plant as many churches as God enables us. If possible, in urban places we will plant churches at an interval of 10 minutes drive and in rural places we will plant churches at an interval of 10 minutes walk.

Cross Based Ministries has a zeal for helping and equipping pastors and leaders (saints) for good leadership in God’s work. Therefore we offer a Bible School to train and equip ministers of the gospel. Colossians 1:28, Acts 17:11, 2nd Tim 2:15

Under church management, we have not left out the principle of considering widows, orphans and vulnerable.

As Cross Based Ministries we have opened the first children’s home (orphanage) with around 10 fatherless kids. We also help other children with education, clothing, food and other necesseties while staying with their guardians. Our tailoring school help teens from poor families with the creation of self employment abilites in their lives.

We have other projects like "brick making",where we make and sell bricks to support the work.

Cross Based Ministries discovered that some parts of Africa are neglected and poor families have shortage of food, water and clothings in remote areas. Therefore, Cross Based Ministries have been trying, as much as we can, to dig water wells to support the communities by providing water.

We also collect used clothes, shoes, books, and Bibles from the well wishers and we also collect food to support the needy.

Cross Based Ministries also discovered that many villagers have no toilets and that result in dangerous diseases like Cholera, Typhoid among others. Therefore, Bread Barn churches have a burden of constructing temporal latrines for people to use and keep their environment clean and safe for their health.
